Windows 7 Win 7 Pro - XP

Hi, I purchase Win 7 Pro edition so that I could run Win XP on it as a virtual machine.
With a few hiccups, this worked ok.
Now I am unable to start the virtual machine (Win XP) and get the message
---‘Windows XP Mode’ could not be restored because of either host processor type mismatch or lack of hardware-assisted virtualization support in the system---
Anyone know why?

On an older machine I had to enable Virtualisation in BIOS to get XP mode working.
