Camera & Scanner not being detected...

When I plug my camera in via USB I hear the little sound that you normally
get when you plug USB devices in but nothing shows up as having been
detected in My Computer. I have a HP all-in-1 printer and everyting works
but the scanner. When I click on get pictures from scanner or camera
nothing is detected. Other USB devices work fine so it appears to just be
the camera & scanner detection that's not working.

Anyone have an idea what this might be being caused by?

Thanks in advance for your help,

Howard

I should have added that the wizard doesn't pop up when I connect the camera
either.

Thanks JS. When I installed the HP printer I selected all of the all-in-1
capabilities which includes scanning so I "assume" so. Is there a way for
me to confirm that?

Also, whether I have the HP printer scanner driver installed or not,
shouldn't the XP Wizard pop up when I plug the camera in? The camera
installed USB drivers and when I plugged the camera in the first time it
said that new hardware was detected and then that the hardware had been
installed and was ready for use. Of course it didn't show up on My Computer
as described above.

Search for a twain file, use this a the search criteria (*twain*.*).
My scanner has the following:
C:\WINDOWS\twain_32\hptwainres.dll as one of the files.

Also what HP model do you have.
Note that some stand alone scanners require that the software drivers are
installed before connecting the scanner to the PC.
Check you installation instructions.
