Sorry...right, What can i say? Well firstly the graphics are stunning, no really, stunning! I had it running at max everything @ 1280x1024 with V-Sync off, and it never dropped below 50fps! (My CPU is stock and 8800 running at 648/2000, with the shader clock at 1512.)

Will have a go with forcing AA and AF in the CP later, see how that goes.

This game is so well optimised its almost unbelievable!

The atmosphere it creates is errily good, the hairs on my arms were standing up at one point!


I've taken load of screen shots, heres a few, let me know if you want more.

These are with no AA or AF and at 1000x800 from 1280x1024

Finished downloading and installed, preparing to fire up this baby. My average speed was 20kb/s, but damnit, i got there in the end

If its half as good as what the reviews say, i think i will simply be gobsmacked.

Just a quick note to anyone running AVG.

I've read lots of people who use AVG saying that it picks up the bioshock .exe as a trojan. Looks like you will have to tell it to ignore it.

I've tried what I thought was the X1300 in my machine, but it turns out it was only an X300 (even slower than what I have)... I'm just going to wait for a new machine now

Bummer, Theres a thread on the offical forums about running the game on a non SM 3.0 card, HERE, although its a work in progress and i didn't have time to read it properly, but it may be worth a read?

Just tried this with 8x AA and AF, Supersampling and a few other bit forced in the CP. Not a massive difference, but notable in places, the lighthouse in the first shot is a good example.

So whos got this on order?

Im not sure if this has been covered but i got the demo from Grabit and when I go to install it a Trojan is detected?!?!?!?!?!

Ah, yeah see post 91, AVG seems to detect a trojan in the .exe. nothing to worry about. Scan with an online scanner if your worried.

I dont see why it wouldn't be in stock flops. Official release is on Friday so i dont know if you'll be able to grab it from game tomorrow. You should dl the demo, gamershell is usually a fast server, thats where i got it from. I posted a link on the second page if your interested

Yep, this is a FPS, and imo a damn good one, and it will run sweet on you rig.
