BCM for Outlook database cannot be loaded

I have 8 users starting to use a shared Business Contact Manager 2003
database. The database is on a local computer, since I am not able to store
it on the SBS2003 server. I had all 8 users connected to the shared database
at one point. The users now occasionally get the following message:
"Business Contact Manager for Outlook database cannot be loaded.
This action cannot be completed because Business Contact Manager cannot
access the database.
Login failed for user '(null)'. Reason: Not associated with a trusted SQL
Server connection."
I made sure all of the users had Windows accounts on the host computer.
Later in the day, I was able to see the database from all the computers. I
do not know why the users sometimes see this error message, and whether it
may recur. Any thoughts? Thank you.

I haven't run into that message before when the users have valid
accounts, which is the case if the same user could connect later, but
you are pushing the limit on how much load the database can handle.
MSDE has a limit of five concurrent connections (and one user may have
more than one connection per BCM sesssion). After five, the other
database access requests are queued up, and its possible that with
eight busy users, the queue is full and connections are dropped.
That's the extent of my knowledge of this, but someone else may have
more insight into how MSDE behaves under heavy load.

I will see how to put the database on the SBS srver - that is my goal. If
more than five users have the contact folder open, are they using up MSDE
connections?

I don't know the exact limitations of MSDE, but I do know you can share the
db on an sbs server cause I've just gotten that to work. Just make sure that
SBS is at R2 & Use the db creation tool in the link below.
