Unable to connect to remote database

Hi,

I just installed the "Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2007 Database
Tool" on a server and we can't connect to this database with Outlook 2007
with BCM.

Some details:

Server: Windows Server 2003 SP2 (member server), MS SQL Server Express 2005,
SQL instance MSSMLBIZ, TCP/IP enabled, no firewall, on the same LAN than
client computers.

Client: Windows XP SP3, Outlook 2007 (connected to an Exchange Server 2003
in cache mode), BCM 2007 SP1.

When I finish to share the database on the server, I get this informations:
------
For a user who has already installed Business Contact Manager for Outlook

1.. On the Business Contact Manager menu, point to Database Tools, and
then click Create or Select a Database.
2.. In the Create or select a Business Contact Manager database dialog
box, click Select an existing database.
3.. In the Computer name box, enter BCM\MSSMLBIZ which is the name of the
computer where the shared database is located, and then click Connect.
4.. In the Database name list, if more than one database is listed, click
the name of the shared database (AUTOMATISATION), and then click Next.
5.. Click Finish.
------

I follow these instructions but I have the "unable to find BCM databases on
computer BCM\MSSMLBIZ " error message in Outlook.

Any ideas ?

Thanks.

Hello,

Have you tried typing the netbios name of your SQL server instead of
BCM\MSSMLBIZ ?

The DataBaseTool is working in english version only.

is it the same version for the client ?

do you have entering data before ?

[As-tu déja commencé la saisie de données?]

if the database is Blank try this :

[il faut créer la base de donnée sur le poste client-francais et recopier
celle-ci dans sql server du serveur]

Hi again,

Now I can access the shared database with my login but not the other users.
I can't use the Database Tool to share the database because the tool does
not "see" it. Is there a way to give users access rights with SQL Studio ?

Thanks.
