After SP2 cannot uninstall Norton AntiVirus 2004 Pro due to problem

After installing SP2, I had a little problem with NAV 2004 (all scheduled
tasks were listed twice, thus the scan would launch twice) I proceeded to
uninstall NAV 2004 when a box came up within 2 seconds that said "Product
Name" was successfully uninstalled. I went back to try again and this time
I get a message that says "We detected a newer version of antivirus and the
current version must be uninstalled first, setup will now exit." All
updates to NAV were up to date including the WMI update. I checked
Symantec's web site and found nothing about this. How can I install NAV
2004 to correct the duplicated schedules.
