I recently installed Norton Antivirus 2004 and my web pages were
loading slowly. I discovered on the forums that many others were
having the same problem. Symantec is now admitting the problem here:
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPOR...ws 2000/Me/98/XP&src=sg&pcode=nav&svy=&csm=no

Fair Warning - Avoid Norton Antivirus 2004 and stick with the 2003
version until Symantec fixes the problem. They will post updates at
the above URL.

Better yet - avoid NAV altogether and use an AVP where the developer can be
arsed to compile decent, bug free code. Norton applications have been
subsiding for about the last decade at least.

Even better, you can download a free personal edition of
Avast! Antivirus. Has all the heuristic features of the
Pro edition , but includes a simple interface only which
still is highly effective. It also protects your instant
messenging programs like yahoo and mirc and MSN ( Latest
versions included unlike 2003 which onlu supported
versions 4.7 and lower.

I agree...Norton NIS and NAV 2004 also have activation problems..do NOT
install NAPSTER 2.0..totally kills Norton to the point where you need to
reload Windows.
