I recently updated my Win XP Pro to SP2.
It takes about 3 minutes for Norton Antivirus (NAV) to become enabled. In
addition, Internet Explorer will not work until it is enabled. Other programs
work fine before NAV becomes enabled.
I am not sure, but I believe that when I installed SP2, I did not turn off
NAV. I am concerned that this may be the source of my problems.
I believe there is a problem between NAV and SP2. I am trying to decide what
is best / safest:
1. Uninstall SP2. Then disable NAV, and try to re-install. OR
2. Uninstall NAV, and try to re-install, without un-installing SP2.
I should mention that I also have problems with Windows Update. The
installation process stalls without installing the new updates.
Other things in the computer seem to work normally after SP2.
Thanks for your help.
