SP2 Instal + NIS/NAV = problems??

2004-09-06 Installed SP2 with Norton AV & IS running. No serious problems
other than the Sys restore hanging (which may have nothing to do with NAV/IS
- many posts are related to sys 'Restore' problems).

1. Should I expect other problems?
2. Should I remove and re-install SP2 with NAV and NIS off? Or should it be
OK?

thx

Hi:

If you are referring to System Restore of Windows, it might have a small
problem.

You can stop and restart the service and it shall work ok again.

I did that with two different ways - (1) Go to Administrative Tools, and
stop and restart the service, and (2) Stop the service (which is set to auto
start at boot up) and reboot the system and let it start again after logged
in.

Don't know which one really worked out or is better, but after the two, it
works well now.

I have NIS 2004 2004 running when installing SP2 on three notebooks and one
desktop. All of them went well with no major problems, except the desktop
also experienced Windows System Restore hang as you mentioned.

I found the above solution from this group and it worked for my desktop.

PS: Don't forget to update NIS.

Hope this will help.

Success!! (I think)
I disabled the System Restore Service (Admin| Services), restarted. Then
re-enabled System Restore Service and restarted again. I Created a System
Restore point - took only a few minutes like it should...
