ACPI Multiprocessor

Hello,

I am trying to upgrade a 2000 server from Compaq Proliant
1600 MSP (one processor) to Compaq ProLiant ML530G2 (dual
processors)ACPI multiprocessor. After the NTbackup and
restore, the server freezed up after the 2000 flash page. I
followed the

and

Issues

Unfortunately, it did not work. Please let me know the
process of transfer a win2k server to an new hardware. I
need to preserve all the installed software and users.

Thanks for all helps.

Since you have good backups, you should reinstall the old
processor and restore from backups.
With the single processor, go to Device Manager and
change your single MSP to dual.

When it shuts down, remove your uniproc and install your
duals.
Hopefully, your next boot will plugNplay everything.
I've had a computer BSOD on me like this, but choosing
Last Known Good brought it back - with the new multiproc
drivers.
Another trick I tried when I had another computer screw
up on me when tampering with uniproc-to-multiproc, was a
remote registry hack. Couldn't log onto the PC but for
some reason could access it remotely. I butchered the
registry and rebooted. It blue-screened and then
responded perfectly to a repair install.

I hope these ideas can help.
