Update: Warning, could not connect to the Internet

P

PeterH

When I try to do an update, I get a an Autoupdater status
message: could not connect to the Internet. The internet
connection is working fine for everything else.

Any suggestions?

Ensure that Internet Explorer or Outlook Express is
working online, open IE,from the File menu, ensure
that "Work Offline is not checked.

I assume this is what the problem is since I am not seeing any posts that
say it is not working. Does this seem to be the case?

Neither IE or Outlook Express (or Outlook) is set for
offline use. Both connect to the Internet just fine.

Any other ideas?

At bottom of warning dialog, it says: Updates have failed.
AutoUpdater could not detect and Internet Connection.

Tried all of that, and dozens more....no effect, and this
is the one and only program I use with auto-update that
fails...too bad.
