Great!

Security is done.

So it looks like the only one left to do is SYSTEM UTILITIES.

I need to go work in the garden now for a couple of hours.
If no one has started on SYSTEM UTILITIES by the time I get done, then I
can do it then.

What to do with all these files??? FTP to xyz or snail mail on CD to ???

You make it sound like a disease.
I'm also a dialupper, maybe we need a support group. ;o)

IMO it's a *disability*.

Do you think we qualify for relief payments? ;)

Hello,

I don't see that there are any takers for SYSTEM UTILITIES, so I'll do it
now and maybe get it done before the Postman :) arrives.

Far better analogy.

My most common connect is at ~16kbps. That makes me the most disabled
of all, a multiple-amputee in a wheelchair.

So please: I require funds for caregivers. And housecleaners. Plus an
allowance to pass to the young male nurses (their bedside attendance
is required, given my needy condition).

Thanks, Steven, but it's not modem. It has to do with locations, phone
lines. I've learned to adapt pretty well to the situation. Regular use
of download managers. Bots such as Httrack. And for web browse, I tend
to always launch multiple pages to background tabs, thereby not waiting
when I am reading online.

I was curious if you noticed that CryptEdit has several plugins that
go with the bare program install.

These are the various files. IIRC the author stipulates that these
each should remain as separate files:

http://polyedit.com/downloads.shtml

Crypt Edit 4.1 2001-04-14 1.1 Mb cedit.zip

Crypt Edit 4.1 Update 2001-06-23 535 Kb update41.zip

Russian Interface 2000-12-10 82 Kb russian.zip

Spanish Interface 2001-01-23 82 Kb spanish.zip

Chinese (Simplified) Interface 2001-05-01 90 Kb chinese.zip

Chinese (Traditional Big5) Interface 2001-09-27 90 Kb chinese2.zip

Detailed help file by Paul Kinosian 2000-11-26 234 Kb help.zip

Spanish help file by Ramon Esquivel 2001-03-02 171 Kb help_sp.zip

Hex Plus Plug-in 1999-12-08 204 Kb hexplus.zip

Internet Import Plug-in 1999-12-12 141 Kb intimp.zip

AutoScroll Plug-in 2001-08-18 135 Kb autoscr.zip

Does anyone recall any other programs like this that require multiple
files?

Hi POKO,

I don't *do* breakfast. How about my sister's address? Bruce Mines is
much closer to you. ;)

BTW - I checked and you were right about the Freeware Whacko wet Tshirt
rule - did you see the footnote - about having to wear the wet Tshirt
outdoors all day on January 1 (June 1 in Oz)?

Well, I sat down at my desk, prepared to begin more
downloading and I see it's already finished.
Damn, that was fast! Thanks for all the help!

OK, I've got-
Business-Home
Desktop
Graphics
Multimedia

I haven't checked EULAs yet, but after I've finished doing
that I'll burn the CD and send off an email to Susan.
I'll also post back what I find.

The Gimp for Windows needs GTK+ for Windows installed before
The Gimp is installed.
You also need LZW libraries for The Gimp if you want to use
the GIF format, but only in countries where the patent has
expired. I grabbed both of them while I was there.

Irfanview distibutes the plugins seperately from the
program, so I grabbed those, too.

Thos were the only two I can think of in the sections I
downloaded.
