Are you *sure* Edison didn't invent electricity?

You can't invent nature.

And the oldest known report of the existence of electricity dates back to
about 600 BC and the ancient Greeks. :)

further versions please contact us for a new agreement."

Any anti-virus software would be outdated the day the CD was first burned.
Not a good idea IMHO, better just include links to the AV-program sites.

Hmmmm..........Thomas Edison did NOT invent electricity.
Pretty sure

a) it isn't an invention
b) Edison didn't discover it

Edison was a crook. The only thing he was good at was stealing the
ideas of other men, and filing patents.

You are correct Sir.
This next man used to work for him. Will this name ring a bell?
Nikola Tesla - more patents than Edison and wasn't a publicity hound.

Edison was fairly old, though. I think he was the one who made the initial
report.
'Edison' is a Greek name, isn't it?

Hmm... I'm not convinced. Edison was a pretty smart guy. I think he might
have invented electricty.

Tesla was a true inventor, and a genius. He didn't have a
publicity department, like Edison.

"That would be OK, but if possible could you include a "readme"
file alongside the Calypso installation file that notes that
Calypso development has ceased, but that Rose City Software has
licensed the Calypso source code for further development as
"Courier Email". http://www.rosecitysoftware.com/courier

I have no idea what to do with this. They said yes but...
Kerio Personal Firewall 2.1.5
"I have attached our software distribution agreement. Please
fill out and
sign the attached software distribution agreement (SDA) and fax
it back
to us at (fax number removed). Our authorization becomes
effective on the day we receive the signed SDA."

Google Toolbar said YES as well. They sent a 1mb zip file and
had this to say.

"Find attached the installers for the Google Toolbar. If you
agree to our
licensing and use terms found in the EULA, you may include it on
your CD.

Please forward a copy to us for our archives."

Hotmail will not allow me to download the file. Hotmail will
also not allow me to forward the file to another address. It
says the file is to big and it wants to strip the attachment.

I figured all these types of requirements would rear their
ugly heads. That's why I volunteered to burn CDs regardless
of EULAs or registration requirements.
All these guys think we're commercially distributing CDs.
We're not. We are just making copies of Pricelessware
programs for people who would like copies of the programs
that made the current list. Nothing more, nothing less.
KISS, right?

Way back when I was on dial-up a friend who had DSL and a burner
sent me 2 CD's of software. It was stuff you could get online
but some of it was the bigger stuff that would have taken me a
week to download.

I think that Pricelessware should so it the "right" way. Ask the
authors. Meet any resonable requirements that they might have.

Of course once a person has a Pricelessware CD there is not much
to stop them from burning copies for their friends.

Someone not associated at all with Pricelessware could always
download the programs listed on Pricelessware and make a CD for
thier friends or to people that request one. It's probably been
done on some level already.

SINNER

While strolling through alt.comp.freeware, callsignviper was
overheard plotting:
Hmmmm..........Thomas Edison did NOT invent electricity. He simply
found a way to harness a naturally occurring phenomena and put it
to use.

True dat, typing faster then the brain was thinking, I meant lightbulb
but that seems to be incorrect as well, however the point is still
valid.

Kind of ironic tho that Edison nearly lost all his fortune in "Stone
Furniture"

He was also into early filmmaking with his kinetiscope (i know that
ain't spelled right) and tried to monopolize early filmmaking but you
can't compare him to bill gates (ok, so the fact that both simply
stole the ideas from others and made them work is by no coincidence).
