I guess I'm talking to myself ATM. . . self, it certainly does look
like it's a new "feature" added with the installation of SP2. . .

I'm going to take the CD to work tomorrow and see what Win2k and
whatever version of IE is on the boat anchor will run the # links.
After all, they are called "anchors" aren't they? :)

(I don't know why I didn't think of this today.)

The problem is however that many people have no idea how to "seed"
with this new torrent client. They just start downloading and assume
uploading is okay.

I found that using a client such as Bit Tornado it is very much easier
to increase the speed/amount of "feed" one gives others.

With µTorrent, if you have the port open you're seeding about as much
as you can. If you don't, you won't get much speed in any torrent
program.
Assuming one knew how to do that.

There are sites for help for those who don't. I've posted the link.

Not only easy - small and it doesn't install. Handy for thumb drives.
And it goes like blazes. I'm watching a 285kB/s download right now.

Where does it (uTorrent) save its settings? It doesn't seem to create any
..ini that I can find. If it's storing its settings in the registry, how
does that make it good for a thumb drive?

I'd sure like to hear what happens when someone who *ISN'T* using WinXP
browses the web pages with IE.

Well my download just finished this afternoon so once I get the CD burned
(won't be until late this evening/tomorrow) I can test it on my Win98SE box
with IE6 and report back.

Read the FAQ. I'm not home now, and I don't have direct access to the
computer with the program on it, but I seem to recall that it saves
everything in 2 files that you copy into the same directory as the
executable.

Ah, thanks. That is good to know.

Ah, thanks. That is good to know.

I just looked at the FAQ - the data is stored in %AppData%\µTorrent.
%AppData% is almost always your C:\Documents and
Settings\<YourUserName>\Application Data directory, and the file is
settings.dat. µTorrent will also find it if they're both (the
settings file and the .exe file) in the same directory.
