Kookie Jar (Email Tool) 7 (out)

is also a unique tool and has more votes than Quicksilver

QuickSilver (Email Tool) 6 (out)

IMO it's a case of: close but no cigar. . .

Susan

Fair enough, I guess.
FWIW Kookie Jar also does usenet post sigs.
Point being the category doesn't reflect that.

You provide METAR updates? I would like to hear more on this. Email me

Yup - I've seen several *very* recent favorable mentions - nnCron is new
to the nomination list - has unique capabilities - IMO the user base is
growing - I think it deserves a spot.

[OT for this *specific* thread, but...]

That statement perfectly descibes my position wrt explore2fs, Susan.

- new on the nominations list
- what mentions there have been are favourable
- unique capabilities
- growing user base (obviously)

Not to mention, explore2fs got 8 votes to your 6 for nnCron LITE.

It's sure a good start. :)

I'm still playing catch-up - will respond in the appropriate thread when
I've had a look at all the comments.

There are heaps of freeware sig programs out there.
There are only a few remailer programs.

This is true. If one is seeking anonymity they won't find it in
Pricelessware unless someone changes their mind and sees fit to
include an anonymity/privacy category.

it's on the todo list . . . down near the bottom :)

I've been guilt-tripped by experts before (including and especially you)

my immunity is building up . . . ;)
I propose she cut back on sleeping, to provide more time for fulfilling our
wishes. My vote is to alot her 3hrs a night sleep.

Perhaps when you give up coffee . . . :)

Actually, I'd say Quicksilver isn't properly categorized.
As its capabilities as a usenet posting tool for anonnymity
isn't encompassed in in the category.

Do ANY of the programs that won allow you to retrieve Yahoo or Hotmail?
ePrompter does, and YahooPOPs does via your own newsreader...I'm not sure
about the others. Clearly the ability to access webmail without having
to go to the Yahoo or Hotmail sites is a unique and widely sought-after
capability.

IMO *widely* sought-after is perhaps stretching it a bit . . .

I will add *one* with that capability: YahooPOPs! (Email Checker) 11 (no
ware issues).

Good news! Thanks, Susan.

And, thanks, Barnie. I was beginning to develop a theory that Susan
counts my vote and Jason's always as one single vote, that she decided
maybe we live together and "collaborate our schemes" offline. ;)

Ditto.

Re-ordering the Agent/Free Agent newsgroups list is something that a
very large number of Agent/Free Agent users want to do. Probably the
most popular Agent/Free Agent utility.

not enough votes - check the votes for apps on the Internet page that
*were* selected for the PL (and note: Internet is the largest page we
have - by a fairly wide margin).

Small correction.(sorry)

Please not apologize. On the contrary, one of the reasons I prefer to post
statements like that in /public/ is for hope of getting corrections in
the case where I'm inaccurate. So thanks.
Bookmark Wizard will do other directories if you type them in.

Woops! Yes, I see it now - right at that first screen. I'd too immediately
jumped to the next screen, the browse folder dialog, not having looked at
things carefully enough.
And experimenting with it just now it does't do Mozzila-type Bookmarks.

I haven't much taken up the habit of Mozilla bookmarks, but once did plan
on reading about their format. XML something or other (?) and distinct from
NSCP's particular html format... I didn't get the reading done...

Basically, any convertor not developed after date X (~ 2002 ??), can we just
assume it incompatible, without spending time testing it?
It should be called "Favorites Wizard.
Round file.

Heh. Agree with the rename!

Wait, hold on, no! Implicit in my proposition was that I have full reserves
of coffee, at all times, plus my keyboard, so as to be fully equipped for
generating your to-do lists.

What say to a compromise? I keep my coffee; and your allotment gets upped
to 4 hrs/night sleep?

Ain't that the truth. Maybe it should be that way.The programs available
for anonymity/privacy and security also include payware as well as freeware
so as to have a more complete solution. Any discussion about the category
would be somewhat crippled in the range of discussion to have it limited to
just freeware and computer settings when there are other forums with
knowledgeable people more suited for such a discussion.

No problem, I would be almost lost without Visit Url. It's in my 10
most used proggies list. Thank you for your efforts.
