One or more messages in your outbox do not have a valid account sp

Ask your email provider (who is probably also your internet provider)
for their instructions for setting up to use their email servers. If they
haven't written instructions for Windows Mail yet, use their
instructions for Outlook Express but under Windows Mail instead.
The instructions are probably somewhere on their web site. Or,
you could tell us who your email provider is and see if anyone already
knows where to find the instructions.

After you make the corrections, you'll probably have to go into the
Outbox and delete the messages it reports as problems.

I have Wildblue. Anyone know how to set up the outgoing mail.

Here is the Microsoft fix:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/941090/en-us

Note: Although the title of the KB article says Outbox, the fix will also work
for stuck messages in other Windows Mail folders. Please run the fix with
Windows Mail closed. Also, download and install the appropriate file for your
Vista version (32-bit or 64-bit).

Click on Tools, then Accounts, then your email account, then Properties.
Have you specified a valid email address and a valid reply address that
will get replies back to you? If not, change them so you do, and then
delete the messages in your Outbox that have the incorrect return
addresses.

Click on the Outbox. Are the messages you find sent as mail or sent
to newsgroups?

If that doesn't help, show us the entire error messages, not just a
summary.

This is my first venture into Microsoft Communities. I really appreciate
your help in a very frustrating situation. I tried the fix via microsoft
support using the patch ... kb/941090, and it didn't work. Then I tried the
Mike Burgess method, which seemed hopeful. Just as you described, the search
yielded two items. I was able to delete one of them. However, when I tried
deleting the second I got the message "The action can't be completed because
the file is still open in another program." Where?? and how can I find and
close it?? I'm clueless. Thanks, Steve Weiss

Did you try installing both the 32-bit version and the 64-bit version of the
kb/941090 patch? The one that doesn't match your version of Vista will
just refuse to install. There are also a few workarounds which may be
worth trying described at:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/941090

When trying the other fix, did you at least shut down Windows Mail
first?

The message you quoted is probably at least 8 months old.
The method referred therein is no longer supported.
It is always best to try the latest fix first. The KB/941090 article mentions
several workarounds if the downloaded hotfix doesn't work.

Thanks Gary this fix works great, can now send emails no probs, did not have
a problem with deleting mail.

"Messages may be stuck in the Outbox when you use Windows Mail on a

That page offers two download options. Unless you know for sure
you have 64-bit Vista, use the 32-bit option.

have checked my gmail settings in the account, tried the windows fix

I downloaded the program according to the instructions and waited for my
computer to restart. When I opened Windows Mail for the first time the stuck
message was still there. Tried clicking on it to delete it but didn't work.
how exactly do i delete the stuck message?

Just downloading the hotfix doesn't do much. You then have to run it
as administrator. Also, a few users guess wrong on whether they need
the 32-bit version or the 64-bit version, and therefore have to try
installing both of them. If both refuse to install, you may need the Vista
SP1 update instead, even though this takes hours longer to install.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/936330

If the hotfix or the update install but don't remove those messages,
click on the Outbox, then move those messages to the Drafts folder
or delete them. Then send yourself a message, and if this produces
any error messages, right click on them and copy the entire error
messages into your next message.
