Cannot delete outbox mail

After composing a reply or a new message and clicking on "send" I get this
message :
_____________
"One or more messages in your outbox do not have a valid account specified.
Would you like to use your default account to send your messages?

"Yes" "No"

____________

If I click on "yes"...The sent message goes to my "outbox" and just sits
there. If...I then, click on "send all messages" the message that has newly
arrived will be sent ...If...I click on the "no" box in the "message from
above box: which re-appears...but...I have to click on "no" five times.

If, when I click on "No" when the above message first appears, when I hit
the send button.....the message will be sent...if I click the "no" button
five times.

I seem to remember that clicking on "send" ...one time used to work just
fine. I am running Windows Vista, Premium home edition.

I down loaded a couple of upgrades from Microsoft and for a whole
day...everything was just fine. Now...the problem has returned.
