Has anyone been able to clear the OUTBOX?

I tried the WMTuil with no success. It only presents File Statistics, Clean
Blank Files, Change and Close. The other options are greyed out I continue
getting One or more messages in your Outbox do not have a valid account
specified. Would you like to use your default account to send these
messages? Yes or NO and no matter which one I select, it wil not clear.
Message could not be displayed
Windows Mail encountered an unexpected problem while displaying this
message. Check your computer for low memory or low disk space and try again.

However, I am using Vista.

I have an unrelated question that I hope someone can answer for me. Under
Outlook Express I was able to have a left hand panel showing all of the
people in my address book. I cannot figure out how to do that with Windows
Mail. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks
Bill Freda

Go back to http://www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/Default.aspx
Read and follow the instructions - especially the ones in the red box!!

Since it is unrelated Bill, you should have started a new thread.

What you want is not possible within WM.

If you really need to have your contacts take up a section of your screen,
then you can open WM, then open the Contacts Folder from the toolbar, Now
resize both windows to sit side by side.

I followed the directions in the red outlined box and it worked!

Why should that warrant an "!"?
Having it work without following the instructions
is far more deserving of an "!"

I have a note in Outlook that will not send. I get the same error message.
I did download the program WMTuil, but I see no red box. I also do not see
any 'instructions. When I ran the program, it found nothing to clear. I do
know I was able to remove my old mail account with the errorred message in
Outbox, set up a new account, and that allows mail to be sent and received.
Although every time you try to send or receive you will get an error message
"One or more messages in your Outbox do not have a valid account specified.
Would you like to use your default account to send these messages". I say no
and Windows Mail sends and receives. If anyone comes up with a solution,
please let me know.

Is this error part of the new Windows Mail? How many other problems are out
there we don't know about?

Why do you talk about Outlook if you are using Windows Mail?
The red box to read, is on the website.

Thank you. I was able to get to the correct website. Pardon me for the typo
- Outlook instead of Outbox. I have been suitably chastised!!!

So you should be :)

But the thanks need to be directed toward the writer of the WMUtil program,
Dr Steve Cochran MVP.

Please note that he also made it a FREE to use tool. (Even M$ Tech Support
are sending users to his site).

Thousands!! Have benefited from his generosity.

Check out some other goodies @ http://www.oehelp.com/Default.aspx

To Mr. Cochran - Thanks so much for a very helpful program.

To everyone else, this is a great way to help each other.

Hush... M$ might shut it down!

Then again it is, in a way, very profitable for them since
it saves on their support budget.
