cannot delete or move message from outbox

This worked for me having tried several of the other suggestions

Watch out where to back up your files/messages etc.
My back up disappeared for some reason - but WM recreated a recovered
messages folder where all my stuff is - minus the un-deletables!

I found a download that fixed my same problem. First, go to
support.microsoft.com.
On this page there will appear two search windows. Go to the one that says
"Kb".
Type in 941090. That will take you to a page where you can download and run
a file that fixed the problem I had. I ran the program/patch, restarted my
computer, opened my e-mail, went to the file I couldn't delte and it deleted.
I can send mail again!

I have been reading and following all of these posts for weeks now. I have
tried several of the suggestions, but this is the first one that has worked.
(I had problems with not being able to see any of my messages in the beta
email program). Thank you so much. I have an empty deleted email box now.

Having the same problem --getting the ""failed with Jet error -1032"....
opertation terminated with error 1032
(Jet_errFileAccessDenied, Cannot access file, the file is locked or in use)
after 30.77 seconds. "
Even though I am the administrator and logged on my account (the only
account on the machine) that has admin privileges

I tried this but it didnt work... can you please suggest another fix... or is
there a tool yes.... also I cant navigate from the user profile to the
outbox... why is this?

Is MSFT eventually coming out with a permanent patch to fix this problem
relating to INBOX email deletion? Thank you

Whether permanent patches will be released for WM, no one knows
for sure, or at least they're not talking. In the WLM newsgroup, one
Microsoft developer promised continued future 'support' for WM,
but reading between the lines, I took it to mean security fixes only.
Microsoft will have to commit one way or the other by the time
SP1 for Vista is finalized.

I did as per the instruction and is able to remove the stuck email from my
outbox without any problems to the WinMail system.

I have followed your instructions and get error message "failed with Jet
error -1811"
I have no idea what to do next. Any help would be great.

I have follow all the steps and have the message "failed with Jet error 1811
terminated with error" What now.... I'm tech challenged so keep it simple.

In google type in 941090, download the patch, it will solve your delete
problems.... been driving me crazy for weeks!

What do I type in the command prompt after it tells me " Operation terminated
with error....after 30.46 seconds???
It now say C:\Users\reier>

microsoft now has a fix at microsoft.com it is update kb941090 for 32 bit
systems was easy to install and only requires a restart to fix the problem
