XP wont load

When i switch cokputer on, the machine fires up, but
screen remains bnank. Once every 20 o thirty tries I can
get XP to load but it freezes within a couple of minutes

When I run recovery disc it is recognised by the compute
but screen remains blank. wil not even go into safe mode

Can anyone help

If the system is still under warranty you should have it looked at. This
sounds like a hardware problem. Possibly flaky RAM, hard drive or even power
supply problems can cause this type of behaviour.
 
I've come across a monitor with faulty powersave mode that acted like that.
Is the monitor LED changing colour almost
immediately after startup?
Can you connect to a different monitor to check?
