XP updated - installation issues with Norton AV 2002

Bill

I restored my system from scratch using XP restore.
Updated XP with all of the critical updates. Now, when I
try to install Norton AV 2002, it stops part way thru and
I receive the following - c:\documents and settings\all
users\application data\symantec\norton anti virus\tasks -
error 1303 installer has insufficent priveledges to
access this directory. Any thoughts??????

yes go to to that location and give everyone full
control and read

do it at the application data or symantec level and then
click advanced and highlight everyone and check apply to
child these permissions and apply and ok

how to get to permissions you ask, right click the folder
and click sharing and security or properties.

p.s. you may have to uncheck use simple file sharing
under tools folder options and view

I attempted to do what you suggested, but it appears
since the installation never created this file. It
appears to be a problem related to the window installer
after loading the updates and SP1. I've loaded Norton AV
2002 on an identical machine without the updates and SP1
with no problems. I forgot to mention I'm running XP
Home. There appears to be differences between the two.
Thanks for your earlier suggestions. If you have any
others, they would be appreciated.
