I had to replace my main board and CPU. Now Windows XP won't start. I think I
have to re-activeate with MS but can't since I can't get on line. Can I phone
them? If so, how do I get that number?

Hi

If you have replaced the motherboard, you will need to perform a 'Repair'
install of XP. Please have a look at the following article by Alex Nichol
regarding Windows Activation:

"Windows Product Activation (WPA)"

OK. I tried to enter the repair function but I'm asked for the
administrator's password. I put in the correct password that works under
normal circumstances and it rejects it as incorrect. What now?

Hi

You don't need a password for a 'Repair' of XP - you may be pressing 'R' at
the wrong time. Have a look at the following article by Michael Stevens:

"How to Perform a Windows XP Repair Install"
