problem with registering XP

a year ago I've bought new PC, and recently (12-13 days ago) I've changed
graphics card and CD/DVD drive. As soon as I've completed installation pop
said that I have to activate windows (or something like that) in 3 days.
Because I keep internet on my older PC, to avoid infections to new one. I was
delaying doing it over net and didn't turn off PC since installing graphic
card.

Yesterdays I've had to restart PC and when I did, it didn't let me do
anything other than register, online or over phone. The problem is that I
can't do it online since it won't let me connect online and I can't do it
over phone 'cause there's no valid support for Bosnia and Herzegovina (when I
dailed the number it said this number is not in use).

I was trying to register it trough safe mode, but as soon as windows boots
it says that I can't activate it this way, 'cause products can't be activated
trough safe mode. And forces me to reboot in normal mode, anything else works
the same, only thing I can do is get into normal safe mode but still can't
connect online.

I've got suggestion to re-install XP, but I don't own an XP disk although XP
on that new PC is original and valid copy of Win XP pro (however it was
installed after PC has been bought).

There's only one other suggestion I've got, which I'm not really fond of, in
fear of losing something important... that's to use system restore to date
before 3 days expired... How much do I lose with system restore? Just
installations or changes to files too or new files that were transfered on PC
too?

And is there any other way of registering it?

When using System Restore, you supposedly lose no Data(I never have).
But, always have a backup anyway.
Any applications, (and Windows Updates!!!) that you have installed since the
date you want to go back to will be lost.
