error message-G:\1386\asms The system cannot find the
file specified.
Can you tell me what i need to do to load xp on my machine?
 
Rick,
is the CD you're using to install XP a genuine Microsoft CD (edge-to-edge
hologram), or a burned copy? If the latter, try burning the CD again.
Sometimes bad burns can cause strange error messages during setup.
 
Browse your CD using explorer and make sure you have the ASMS directory
( and its sub-directories under the i386 directory ) accessible.
