C:\$win_nt$.~ls\1386\asms This what I get when trying to
upgrade from 98se to XP Home. I am hoping someone can
tell me how to fix this cause the installation stops at
this point.

I have also seen this error message with home-burned CD's. Sometimes when XP
CD's are burned at high-speed the files do not burn properly, even with all
the burn-proof/overburn/buffer underrun protection available. If you are
using a backup copy of the media, try 1) using the original CD or 2)
re-burning the CD at 2x (and disable your virus scanner and screensaver).
