I recently put myself together a new computer. and while
trying to load windows XP Pro I get a large barrage of
errors. Most commonly the setup program hangs during the
installation of devices (about 3/4 done) or I get a blue
screen that says something about IRQL bieng not equal or
less... No matter what I try I cannot resole this. Can
anyone help??

Assuming nothing has ever been installed on this computer
before, this error normally means there's a hardware
problem.

Try removing everything except the CPU, one stick of RAM
(if possible), a hard drive, a CD drive, and a video
card. For the above items, double-check that they are
seated correctly, are not dirty (or that the slot or
contacts beneath them are dirty). If you have a
temperature monitor available in your BIOS setup, check
and make sure things aren't overheating.

If you're able to install like that, then start adding
things back in.

If all that doesn't work, it's possible something is bad -
if you have other hardware to swap with, you may want to
try with that.

maybe you shoulda got someone who knows how to assemmble a box a bit
better......
