XP re-install killed printer

My system crashed and I had to re-install XP. My problem now is that I lost
my printer setup when I re-installed XP.

I am caught in a catch-22. I can not use "Control Panel", "Add a
printer" because my print spooler service is not running. Print Spooler
Service refuses to start because my printer setup is screwed up. It gives me
an "Error 3: The system cannot find the path specified." but it does not say
what the path is our how to correct it.

I am still using my old Epson 600 that I got with a previous computer. When
I tried hooking it up to my laptop then turning on my laptop. It tries to
install but errors out with "RPC server is unavailable". My RPC service and
RPC Locator service are running. I even found my old discs and tried
installing from them but I get "No print processor is found, or cannot be
installed. Your windows system may be abnormal condition. Exit windows and
try it again, or setup your windows again"

Any ideas?

Hello Ben,

Before you hook up any printer you like or add printer, you should install
their driver, i.e. printer driver, to your PC by using CD attached to the
printer
you bought. Then you can add the printer "add printer" in Control Panel.
