XP Pro Login Password

Okay, put in a new router at work with a firewall built in. Had a few
computers that wouldn't access internet. was told to try different things,
so tried on laptop as guinea pig. One thing was told to do was to change
from a domain to a workgroup. After doing that, did a restart. Logon screen
comes on, but the administrative password doesn't work. Keeps coming up with
message "The system could not log you on. Make sure your User name and
domain are correct, then type your password again. Letters in passwords must
be typed using the correct case." I know the password is correct and in the
correct
case, but I know the domain is wrong as I changed it to a workgroup. So, I
need to log on to change from workgroup to domain, but can't as the domain is
the wrong one. P.S. the user name and password are the administrator user
name and password. I tried leaving password blank, but to no avail. I tried
several combinations. Unfortunately, the person who had the laptop
previously does not have the user name and password anymore. Any suggestions?

This may help:-
Go to http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/ and download the boot
disk or boot CD, this will enable you to reset any system password on
an NT class operating system.
