You must of install something... WGA will invalidate your OS if you
install certain software, it seems to work most often with Adobe
products.

MS, but stand in line http://tinyurl.com/g6awd or wait for a class
action suit.

A. Newegg.

I don't think so. WGA properly identified the product as an
OEM version of Windows XP and this agrees with what was bought
by the OP and sold by Newegg. Considering Newegg's reputation,
one can chalk this up as an example of a false positive that is
probably based on, perhaps, an erroneously-reported, overused
product key or whatever.

There is insufficient evidence, Carey, to point the finger at
Newegg or anybody else except for Microsoft which put out a very
shoddy product in its pursuit of a legitimate objective. And you
don't have to add in rebuttal that the OP should have bought a
retail version of Windows XP instead of the OEM.

Probably correct about ADOBE being the catalyst for the event.

Upgraded an ADOBE product recently and had same problem.

Cleared up after several visits to MSupdate and reboots.

Not sure why though....
