XP Home (w/ sp2) Upgrade to XP Prof w/ sp2 build on EMACHINES

After upgrading my XP HOme edition (w/sp2 -installed as dynamic updates) to
XP Profession( bundled SP2) the windows doesn't boot at all..

Upon booting it shows up the Windows Starting Options screen...but none of
the options work (including safe mode ).

I called Emachine they asked me to remove SP2 with recovery console...But I
think this doesn' apply in this case...as I never upgraded explicitly to
SP2....This was just plain xp Home to XP profe(w/ bundled sp2) install....

Pleas help...as I don't want to lose any data..on my current installation by
using Emachines Restore CDs.
