XP cannot detect CDROM drives ?

I had this problem a few months ago and someone suggested here a remedy
which worked at the time. Unfortunately, i have the problem again with both
my CDROM (DVD writer, CDRW), but i cannot remember the remedy.

I get this message when I check the properties for the drives in device
manager "Windows successfully loaded the device driver for this hardware but
cannot find the hardware device. (Code 41)
Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device."

Please can anyone remind me what to do ??

Alternatively you will want to consult a hardware expert to check if there is any device conflict between the 2 devices. did u mean that u have 2 CDROMs - DVD writer, CDRW
