Working with video files freezes my programs

I can play all types of video files on my pc with sizes ranging from 1mb-3gb,
but when I try to add them large or small to a program (Nero, Windvd Creator,
etc...) that program freezes up and my cpu power spikes to 99% for that
program. Is there a work around or fix? Could this be from a confliction? I
use to be able to work with video files and cannot remember adding anything
that may have caused this. I am running Win XP PRO with SP2. Thank you in
advance!

An upgraded video driver would help. Go to the manufacturer's web site and look
around.

Meanwhile slide the acceleration down on your adapter. Right-click the desktop,
properties, settings tab, advanced button, troubleshoot tab.

Hi Mary, thank you for your input.

I have the latest drivers from NVIDIA v66.93 and have always stayed on top
of that.
I tried turning down the acceleration all the way to off, but the problem
still persists. Any other ideas? Thank you, Todd
