Wireless Laser mouse 6000

I am having issues with the Wireless Laser Mouse 6000. It appears to go to
sleep after a few seconds of inactivity, and will not respond to movement
nor scrolling until it is moved a few times. Very annoying. Especially during
a game.

Any ideas or suggestions?

The only suggestion I have is to get a Logitech. I use the MX1000
Laser, and it works great. The Bluetooth versions do have a wake-up
period, for Logitech, it is about 1/2 second, but it takes about 30
seconds to go inactive. The standard wireless version is almost
instantaneously active once you bump or move it.
