Ok I have a Microsoft wireless Laser mouse 6000. Recently it has no
been cooperating. The cursor is not consistent with mouse movement.
even replaced the batteries too. Is it that the mouse is going bad

check the mouse's optical pickup - a speck of lint or a cat hair will make
it erratic. As far as wireless is concered, new batteries can help (which
you tried), and keeping the receiver close (2 feet) will help. You can
try resynching it too (there's a button on the revcr and on the bottom of
the mouse). Most have just 2 channels, which are shared w/ cordless
phones - were you on the phone when it acted strange? Is a cordless
base-station nearby? Try moving it to the other side of the desk.

good luck.
