Wireless connection

Whenever I try to connect to the wireless connection I press the connect
button then a message appears and says "windows is unable to connect to the
selected network. The network may no longer be in range. Please refresh the
list of available networks, and try to connect again".

The wireless modem is only 1 meter far from me!! My laptop sees the
connection but it won't connect! There is no password too. Any suggestions?

Check with the wireless adapter (PC) and the wireless modem
manufacturers so as to see if they are compatible.

It could be that the wireless modem may be dieing.

If you are using a pcmcia card, there might be some third party
programs that will help you connect. These programs are usually
download-able if you lost the disk that came with your card. Also,
ensure that your wireless devices operate on the same band (a/b/g).

In Device Manager, check the wireless device properties; make sure the
card isn't being turned off under its Power settings. Even the USB
ports should be checked if it's that type wireless component.
