Windows2000 Print Server

I am using windows2000 server, with all update including
sp4. I'm having a problem of after a day or 2 of the print
server working correctly, print jobs will start to hang
around in the print que. For example, we will pause the
print jobs, come back 5 minutes later and try to print
them but they don't print. Then we try deleting them and
they won't delete, and on top of that it prevents other
jobs from printing. It doesn't get back right until I do a
restart. Any suggestion on how to fix this ?

I had this same problem for a few weeks. What I ended up
doing is to stop the Spooler Service, then Stoping the
TCP/IP Print Service. Then go to the \WINNT\system32
\spool\PRINTERS directory. It should be empty if not
delete any files there. Then start the TCP/IP Print
Service, then start the Spooler service and it should be
fine. What I had was old tmp files and old spl (spool)
files that were causing the problem.
Hope this helps
