hi there, is there now an SP3. what does it do or how would i notice any
changes over my existing SP2. is it really necessary to install it or can i
just continue using my existing SP2 without any noticeable changes ? thank

I'd suggest you repost this question in a Windows XP newsgroup. This group is
specifically for the Office Pro database software Microsoft Access - not for
general computer questions.

SP3 was released because there were reasons for it: bug fixes, security
patches, etc. You can go to http://support.microsoft.com and search for
information about the service pack if you're concerned.

no SP3 is not out yet

yes, you do need to download all of the packages from windows update
if you don't then you will have security problems
