I recently rebuilt my Windows XP Professional SP2 machine. When I try to
help someone via Remote Assistance, I can see their screen, but the menu is
missing (Take Control, Send a File, Start Talking, Settings, Disconnect,
Help).

Any suggestions?

TIA,

David

David,

In the host computer, try this:

1. Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties
2. Click the Remote tab.
3. Click Advanced
4. Select the Allow this computer to be controlled remotely check box.
5. Click OK.

Thank you for the suggestion. The check box is already checked.

I did some additional testing, and found that disabling McAfee VirusScan
Enterprise + AntiSpyware Enterprise 8.5.0i on the helper machine corrected
the problem. I will contact McAfee.

Thank you,

David
