Windows XP Pro Setup error

setup cannot copy the file: ntdlr

Help! what do I do? When i reboot i get NTLDR is missing
and cannot get into Win 2000

I was on the phone with Microsoft and
it was hopeless. Now I am upgrading from Win 2000 and
during
the install I get the copy error. Pretty much
toast...HOWEVER the good news is the data is FINE. Just
getting to it is the challenge


Here is what I had to do.

Tried both CDROMS I have - failed
removed memory to enusre consistant bus speed - failed


so this is what i did...

I took the Hard Drive to my work PC and recovered my data
then killed the partition and reformated with FAT 32. I
copied the XP CDROM to the hard drive. Tonight I will
boot
to a cdrom or floppy and install from the Hard Disk. This
is
from MS BTW>.

Pretty sad....I guess I must really like XP
