I have windows 2000 pro and I'm trying to upgade with windows Xp pro but I
keep on getting the following message: "Windows XP Setup does not support
upgrading from Microsoft Windows 2000 Pro to Microsoft Windows XP Pro. Setup
cannot continue". I don't know what to do so I will be able to setup Windows
XP Pro

You are probably trying to upgrade with an XP OEM cd, OEM versions
cannot do upgrades, they are meant to be used on new computers without
any operating systems installed.

NO, not an OEM CD. Original Distribution. but anyway, I still want to
remove the 2K install if you have any solutions to that problem.
thanks

If you *really* want to remove the existing Windows 2000 installation (and
everything else on the drive), try a tool like DBAN. It's fast, easy and
will do the job of purging an old version of Windows completely from your
system. No ifs, ands or buts about it.

NOTE: DBAN is a data destruction tool. It will irrecoverably destroy data on
all hard disks that it has been told to clear. If you have other hard drives
in your computer, you should disconnect their power and data connectors for
maximum safety. You probably don't want to use DBAN if your old Windows 2000
installation contains data you wish to keep. In that case, make and *test* a
backup before you decide to proceed with clearing the drive.
