Windows XP Laptop security

Anyone have any good ideas on how i can control the
security of a laptop running XP? We have laptops which r
loaned to individuals and would like to find a way to
force them to return them ona particular date - so i was
thinking of a way to make the user password expire - can
anyone give me a simple way to do this?

and look at the /expires switch
