windows will not shut down it get stuck

i have see others that have same thing so i tryed the power so it will not
just start up if something happens and thought it worked but now it is doing
it again the last thing i did was windows had a update for office which i
don`t have but it was alos for word so i did that and then it started again
tryed to find what path it was but could not. is their a way to find out or
another fix. i most of the time just have to hold down the power button.
