windows uptdate = mouse died

I agree with the point you make. It is listed for me. That is why I know
I know it is a Hardware Optional Update. It has no relevance to this
computer.

Correction it seems to now be withdrawn. I cannot recollect seeing that
happen before!

Agreed, but the point is that it shouldn't have been there as an
option unless a touch screen was fitted. It's easy to make a mistake
if you're not completely familiar with windows. It wasn't an option
for me, by the way. I've no idea why some XP users' updates screen
provided it.
