Just got a new computer - Dell 8400 WinXP prof
To use an internet chatroom (inr) it requires a plug in (ivocalize)
So, I download & install the plugin.

But, when I try to login to the chatroom, the browser crashes.
I get Interent Explorer has encountered a problem & needs to close (same
exact thing happens in Firefox).
When I drill down, I find a reference to shdocvw.dll
Is this the problem?
If yes, how to fix it?

I've uninstalled, redownloaded the plugin, reinstalled the plugin, rebooted
the computer many many many times.
Same thing happens each & every time.

I just did a search on my system and there were 11 copies of SHDOCVW.DLL.

The latest were in \system32 and \system32\dllcache - and they were the same
by date and size.

If you think it is the problem rename the one in \system32 and copy over the
one from \dllcache.

I tend to agree with your thinking here on how to fix the problem.
I also found about 10 of this file on my computer.

But how can I tell which is the good guy & which is the bad guy?

Also, is there any way to determine that this is acutally the culprit
causing my problem?

Does anybody know what this file is or does?
