Hi. I am trying to add more email accounts using bellsouth and I am recieving
multiple errors. At first the error I recieved was that the new account "was
not a customer" and therefore could not send ot recieve mail from bellsouth
to windows mail. Then, all of the accounts started prompting a dialup screen.
We use dsl. no matter how many times we change the settings the screen pops
up. Any help with either problem?

Is your internet provider the bellsouth.net part of AT&T? If not, you are
unlikely to be able to create a working bellsouth account. I'm not even
sure you can make a fully working connection to bellsouth.net if your
internet provider is some other part of AT&T.

If it is, see here:

For the dialup screen, first start Internet Explorer, then click Tools, then
Internet Options, then Connections. If there is no dot in the circle before
Never dial a connection, click on this circle, then Apply. Click on OK.

Next, start Windows Mail, then click on Tools, then Accounts, then your
email account, then Properties, then Connection. If there is a checkmark
in the box before Always connect to this account using:, click on this box,
then Apply. Click on OK, then Close.

Click on Tools, then Options, then Connection. If there is no check mark
in the box before Ask before switching dial-up connections, click on this
box, then Apply. If there is a checkmark in the box before Hang up after
sending and receiving, click on this box, then Apply. Click on OK.

That first error is not one I recognize from Windows Mail. It sounds like
it may be coming from your ISP. If you can, copy the error and post it
here.

For each account, go to Tools, Accounts, select the account, Properties,
Connection. The box for "Always connect" should be unchecked, meaning
that it will use the same connection IE uses.
