Suddenly can not check messages on two of three accounts

My email has suddenly stopped downloading messages from two of three of my
email accounts.
I have two 1and1 accounts that I receive mail from, and one bellsouth
account that I receive mail from.

One of the 1and1 mails will not download, and the bellsouth account will not
download. (I can still access the mail through webmail)

The errors that I am getting are the same for both accounts.

If your antivirus program is set to scan email, you might try turning that
option off.

That was exactly what the problem was, and I figured that out a few minutes
before checking your reply! :-D
Norton Anti-virus was blocking the email. Once I uninstalled it (it came
with the computer) everythign downloaded just fine.
I installed AVG instead. It works great.
