Problem sending mail but no problem receiving mail

Had no problems sending/receiving email on an att/bellsouth dsl account until
I tried to set up windows mail to read an aol mail account. Now I am
receiving this error message:

The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'Emailing: joel and deb
004, joel and deb 002, joel and deb 003', Account: 'joelhutcheson', Server:
'mail.bellsouth.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket
Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

I removed the new aol account from the windows mail accounts to see if that
would fix the problem but it didn't. I also disabled my AVAST antivirus from
scanning outgoing mail but that didn't help either.

Help please?

Are you connected to Bellsouth?
Gave you checked their web page for any recent changes to how they want it
set up?

I responded in your other thread "ATT Internet Service and Windows Mail."
Kindly post only one thread per issue.
