Windows Mail - Contacts failed to load

If you reinstalled Norton, I'm not surprised you still have problems
with Windows Mail. The latter is known to be incompatible with most
versions of Norton and McAfee antivirus products.

OK, so I surrender. I don't want to give up Norton, so I'll have to use
Windows Live Mail. Is there a way of accessing the messages that were saved
in Windows Mail? Most were backed up, but some hadn't yet been exported.
Where are the stored? Thanks for you help, everyone.

No problem. When you install Windows Live Mail (WLM) it will
automatically import all your WM messages, accounts, and settings.

As a minimum, you must turn email scanning off in Norton, even with
WLM.

Okay, I've read this solution twice, but once I navigate to this registry,
how do I "set the actual contacts folder?"

That is where I am getting stuck?

I can see my Contacts folder under my user name, but WM will not recognize it.

Do we have any other fixes to this problem yet? (Mine started when I copied
my contacts to a USB stick to put them on a new laptop this month. Now, I am
getting the same error messages, and I can't open up my WM.)

*UPDATE! Dang, you guys are good! This resolution works PERFECTLY!

My machine was doing EXACTLY what the above user's was--looking for the USB
stick, so it had changed the reg.

I modified the reg, and now, it is working! Love these forums! Thank you
people!!!

I am bookmarking this thread just in case things change AGAIN!
