windows hangs on new computer

I have upgraded my computer, when I installed my hard
drive with windows 2000 arlready loaded on it, windows
hangs on the startup screen then I receive the message of
boot disk error. I have tried to boot from the emergency
boot disk and repair win 2000. I receive the message
cannot repair windows.

Is there a reason why my hard drive will not work on my
new computer? When I put the hard drive back on my old
computer it works fine.

It doesnt work because your new computer has much different hardware than
your old PC did. You can do an inplace upgrade (boot from CD, repair the
installation it finds and re-servicepack) to get it to work, or you can
backup the drive and do a clean install on the new hardware and then restore
the data.
