Windows crashing

Nycutie

I get an error message telling me "device driver caused
this crash" yet when I call tech support they tell me it
is a software problem. Now what ever is happening won't
allow XP windows to load unless I put in safe mode. Can
someone please tell me what is happening and what I can
do, before I go bald :)

That's ok to start off with a safe mde. Type on your command line prompt
"notepad %windir%\setupapi.log", scroll down to the bottom of the page, see
what was the last driver you installed, write it down. Go to your device
manager, disable the last driver to see if the problem will go away. If not
then try disabling a few more previous to the one you just disabled. I suspect
the latest driver you install or disable could be the cause of your problem.
Sometimes disabling will not help, you may have to remove that last driver.
Usually that's what causes XP to stop running normally.
